Bankruptcy FAQs
Can I File For Bankruptcy More Than Once?
Before Filing for bankruptcy many people wonder if I have already filed for bankruptcy, can I file again?
Yes, you can file for bankruptcy again. There are, however, differences between chapter 7 and chapter 13. For Chapter 7 bankruptcy, you may file once every eight years. But for Chapter 13, there is no limit to the number of bankruptcies you may file. In any individual case, it may be advisable to switch from a Chapter 13 to Chapter 7, or vice versa. Advice from an experienced attorney is a good idea in cases involving multiple bankruptcy filings.
