Southfield is a city in Oakland County of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a northern suburb of Detroit. Outside the Civic Center complex, Southfield has municipal parks and recreation facilities, which were largely developed in the 1970s, including Beech Woods Recreation Center and John Grace Community Center.

Southfield is a commercial and business center for the metropolitan Detroit area, with Southfield’s 27,000,000 square feet of office space, second in the Detroit metro area to Detroit’s central business district of 33,251,00 square feet (3,089,000 square metres).
